Wama adraka ma laylatu alqadr(i)

And what will make you know what the Night of Power is?

لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ

In The Name of Allah-SWT the Most Gracious, The Most Merciful
SECRETS OF REVELATION:

We-SWT have sent the Quran down on the Night of Power; it was transferred from the Guarded Tablet to the first heaven, wherefrom it was revealed gradually over a span of twenty three years or to say that the revelation started in the Night of Power. According to Hadith all the Divine Books were revealed in the month of Ramadhan, which enjoys superiority, in that, it generates angelic qualities in the believers when they abstain from eating and sinning and at the same time strive to act piously.

One of the many aspects of Barakah of this Night is that it exceeds one thousand months in merit with reference to Allah-SWT's worship. Its salient features are:-

  1. The scholars agree that a believer who offers Salat-al-'Isha in congregation and also Salat-al-Fajr in similar manner has found the Night of Power, which according to Hadlth falls in one of the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadhan, the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, and 29th. Since it varies in dates at different places, it is not necessary that it will be on the same night across the globe ever year.

  2. Angels descend, led by the Archangel Jibril-AS, and invoke peace unto the believers engaged in His-SWT worship during this night.

  3. It lasts until the onset of dawn.
